About

Hi, I’m Caroline. I’m a qualified teacher (PGCE, Swiss EDK) with over 20 years of experience in England and Switzerland. I’ve taught learners of all ages—from early years to secondary and now adults—but my greatest joy is helping children grow in confidence and discover how fun English can be.

I founded Fun Englisch für Kids in 2014 to support my own children and other native English speakers whose needs weren’t fully met in the Swiss school system. I believe children do best in small groups, where English feels fun but still stretches them. As the programme grew, it also began to attract Swiss and bilingual learners, motivated both by enthusiasm for the language and by academic goals such as preparing for Gymnasium.

After four wonderful years, I paused the programme in 2017 to work full-time as a class teacher at Swiss International School Pfäffikon. I later taught English and ESL at Institut Montana Zugerberg and now also teach English to adults part-time at Migros Klubschule. Alongside my teaching career, I took time out to raise my three children, which has given me invaluable insight into education from a parent’s perspective.

Before becoming a teacher, I trained in art and worked professionally as an illustrator and mural artist — including commissions for newspapers, magazines and children's books. That artistic background still inspires my lessons today, making learning interactive, engaging and full of imagination.

As a mum, I’ve experienced both the Swiss local and international school systems — and even a short period of homeschooling — through my own children. With one now at university, another starting next year and the youngest following the Swiss Lehre route, their educational journeys have helped me deeply understand the challenges and choices families face. It’s knowledge I’m always happy to share.

Whether you're looking to support your child or improve your own English, my aim is to make learning meaningful, joyful and confidence-building.
